There are people who can write up at a speed, and some like me who cannot catch up with lecturer’s speaking pace. Pattern note taking system is a diagrammatic way of making notes during lectures. It is usually helpful in the process of mind mapping.

- The central ideas/concept is clearly understood
- Due to this system, level of concentration is usually in focus, keeping in mid the main theme of the topic.
- Most important headings are clearly shown in this case.
- The links between topics is clearly defined due to its proximity.
- It’s easier to add on new ideas this way!
- Such a note taking system is good for subjects like marketing, or any creative subject!
